Both actors crack up but they went with this take anyway.

Is there a funnier 60 seconds in any movie?

  2. jcnaumann says:

Gene about cracks up at 0.49 – lol!

@MrJoeblowfromidaho Yes, and I think Marty Feldman begins to laugh as well, just before turning towards the suitcases. I can’t stop watching it!

Is the first scene an outtake?

@rinkichamkar – on the bloopers he keeps breaking up when he says “stop that,” after several attempts they kept this one. On the directors commentary Brooks points out other near crack ups like when he jams the scalpel into his leg during his lecture. They said it was fun to make and it shows.

Without doubt, the funniest movie of all time ! While this is subjective, I’m an older guy who has seen them all! The only ones that come close are the early thirties Marx Bros. flicks! …. Maybe “Bringing up Baby” also!

when igor attacks the damn dogskin that is literally the funniest thing ive ever seen

@AngelArtists Mel Brooks somehow divides. Some people just don’t seem to “get it”, or they get it but they don’t laugh. Some other fall on the floor laughing. I belong to the second group and I am still wondering myself why on earth it makes me laugh so much.

  12. rinkichamkar says:

Note Gene Wilder at 0:45. From the movie trivia, it seems that Gene could not stop himself from laughing at Marty Feldman’s antics and Mel Brooks decided to keep the blooper in the movie.

Bar none, the funniest movie of all time !

  13. AngelArtists says:

I never really found Mel Brooks humour very funny personally

not to be a bigger buzzkill than buzz killington or anything, but this is deffinatly EXTREMELY average/standard comedy. deffinatly nothing to write home about.

    this is an amazing movie!

  17. danceswithpigs says:

What’s even funnier about this scene is that they had to do multiple takes because the actors could not stop laughing when igor attacked frankensteen’s fiancee. Even in the movie i can see gene wilder resisting laughter.

  19. swingdocta says:

she has a dead animal wraped around her

  20. TheDevjin says:

OH WOW He does laugh as he says “stop that” AHAHAHAHA

  21. MrJoeblowfromidaho says:

Is it me or is Gene Wilder laughing a bit when he says “stop that” after Feldman bites the mink stole? Never caught that before.

  22. norsegryphon says:

Gene Wilder wrote this screenplay, credit where credits due

  23. ThrashisBack6 says:

why does Willy Wonka have a moustache???????

  24. jjaniero says:

a lot funnier line is in duck soup when margaret dumont keeps saying ‘closer, closer,” to groucho when they’re sitting on the couch and he says, if i got any closer to you i’d be in back of you

  25. fallbread says:
